Hi Mandi
Sheffield Hallam had its Audit visit recently and there were a couple of points to note:
i)They are very keen on cutting down on forms that have to be returned for one reason or another. You can expect questions
therefore on your procedures for ensuring forms are correctly completed before being submitted. Apparantly anything above a 13%
error rate is deemed to be unacceptable (hapily we were well below that).
ii)They are also keen to ensure you are only applying for CRB checks (particularly for staff posts) where it is appropriate to do
so. They will bring a list of all your CRB disclosure applications and go through the ones where it did not seem clear from the
post description why the application was made.
The visit itself lasted about 90 minutes and involved two members of CRB staff talking to the Lead Countersignatory. No-one else
was involved.
Hope this helps
Pete

Subject: CRB Audit
As we are shortly to be audited by the CRB, I wondered if anyone else had recent experience of this and could give me an idea of
what types of things the CRB are looking for and how long it will take.
Thanks
Mandi
