I would like to draw your attention to a new association we are forming as a collaborative effort between the Universities of Sunderland and Durham. We hope that members of WOIRN would consider joining us in this our inaugural year. If anyone requires any further information please contact one of us on the e-mail addresses below, or me at this address.

It will also organise seminars, symposia, and conferences for scholars, Ph.D. students, teachers, and other interested parties. The network will encourage discussion among members on topics of Irish interest, and promote and enhance the interest in Irish studies within the north of England and beyond. It will eventually be developed as an electronic network, including a newsletter and resources, accessible via the websites of both institutions with membership open to scholars, teachers, and other interested individuals from all parts of the world.
Membership: Membership is open to scholars who have registered with the association. Registration entitles members full participation including the presenting of papers at events held under the auspices of NEICN.
