Hi David,
I agree completely. I think this is one of the main motivations for DPM
as even the cern folks have been stuck with the same problem. Also even
if you have the source it is not easy...
Regarding the documentation, we've been working hard to change this. You
can find the docs at:-

Greig Cowan has only just started on this though, so feedback is
welcome. Even with the docs there can still be major problems,
which we are currently finding..
