The Tourism, Hospitality and Events School at Leeds Met is one of the
largest in the world. Due to ongoing success, we are generating significant
growth in all areas of our portfolio including courses, research,
consultancy and professional development programmes. So we need to recruit
more exceptional people: academic staff, researchers and individuals
interested in pursuing teaching and research careers in HE. Some overseas
travel may be required in any of these posts.

A salary supplement may be available for appropriately experienced
candidates.

Professor of Events Management 
to £50,000 

This is a truly prestigious role that will see you become critical to the
future development of the UK Centre for Events Management. As we look to
grow further and progress our offering, you will develop and lead the events
curriculum, shape research and consultancy activities and raise the profile
of the Centre within the UK and across the world. Experience of the
supervision of post-graduate research students to completion is essential,
with a PhD and a track record of academic publications in events or closely
related areas. You must also have an international reputation in events
management or a closely related area, and a strong personal research profile
and experience of research leadership. A strong record in contract research
and consultancy is also important. 

Principal Research Fellow 
Sustainable Tourism 
to £43,000 

You will join the Centre for Tourism Management, one of the largest groups
of tourism staff within the UK, so you must have a proven track record of
initiating and developing successful research bids/funding applications, and
success in generating external funding for research projects and students
and for consultancy contracts. A PhD and strong backgrounds in Academic
Publications, Contract Research and Consultancy are essential. You will also
specialise in Sustainable Tourism, with a particular emphasis on Corporate
Social responsibility, Protected Area Management and Sustainable Tour
Operations. 

Senior Lecturers 
Events Management 
to £36,500 

The UK Centre for Events Management currently has 18 event specialists 
teaching and researching for a wide-ranging event portfolio. You will
contribute to the research and consultancy output of the centre. You must be
in possession, or nearing completion, of a post-graduate research degree
related to events. You must also demonstrate subject expertise related to
event management in at least two of the following subject areas:
Entrepreneurship and Business Planning for Events; Project Development and
Management; Event Operations; Fundraising; Sponsorship; Procurement; Crowd
and Emergency Management.

Senior Lecturers 
Retail and Sales Management 
to £36,500

Joining our team led by Professor Claudio Vignali, you will contribute to a
fast-growing portfolio including teaching, professional development
programmes, research and consultancy. You must be in possession, or nearing
completion, of a post-graduate research degree related to retailing and
sales management. You must also demonstrate subject expertise related to
retailing and/or sales management in at least one of the following
specialist areas: Retail Planning and Design; Distribution, Logistics and
Quantitative Studies; Finance and Strategy for Retailing; Retail
Organisation and Human Resource Management; Buying and Procurement. 

Lecturers 
to £29,500 

These are new appointments, opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to
start a career in Higher Education. You must hold, or be nearing the
completion of, a post-graduate research degree in a subject area relevant to
the post you are applying for -you will probably also have relevant
industrial experience -and you must be comfortable contributing to teaching
(individual and collaborative), research and consultancy. Assistance will be
given to those still completing their research degree. 

Lecturer - Hospitality Operations with expertise in either operations 
management in Food and Beverage, Quality and Food Management Systems 
or Accommodation and Facilities Management.

Lecturer - Tourism Marketing with knowledge of at least two of the 
following: Tourism Distribution Channels, e-business for Tourism, Tourism
Marketing Management, and Applied Technology Tools and techniques for
Tourism Marketing. 

Lecturer - Sports Events Management with knowledge of at least two of the
following: Sports Events Operations, Sport Administration, Sponsorship,
Crowd Management and Crowd Dynamics, Sports facilities. 

Lecturer - Festival and Cultural Events with knowledge of at least two 
of the following: Cultural and Arts festivals, Legacy and Cultural  Impacts,
Funding and Sponsorship, Urban Cultural Festivals. 

Lecturer - Sales and Retailing with knowledge of at least two of the 
following: Retail Planning and Design, Distribution, Logistics and 
Quantitative Studies, Retail Psychology, Buying and Merchandising.
