What bar code components do you need Duncan? Cheap bar codes could be loaded
and generated via the font list in MSWord and you can then print labels as
required. Or you can have them printed of course. Bar code readers come in
all shapes and sizes, the one I have used use to cost £750. A simple
MSAccess database could contain the bar code field with the rest of the item
data. It does depend on how much functionality you need.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (but effective) piece of Bar-coding
software?
I need to set up a Technical Library within our planning department so need
to keep the cost as low as possible.
If not a cheap library booking system would suffice.
Thanks
