Hi,
I have used NVIVO to analyse my research project, almost 40 interviews and I found it very helpful and time saving. There are also other programs such as MAXqda or ATLASti but I am not familiar with them. All of these programs offer similar features but also different in some features.
You better consider your data format and analysis approach before choosing any of them.
Cheers
Abbas

Greetings!
I am the librarian at my institution that monitors our
electronic reference transactions, both synchronous
(chat-based) and asychronous (web-form). At this time, I
have some 6000 email questions and answers on our SQL
server, and am inputting about 2000 chat transcripts into an
MS Access database.
We would like to take this data and run it through some sort
of software that can help us identify categories
(discipline, question types, etc). Does anyone have a
recommendation for the best type of software for this
purpose?
Many thanks!
Paula
