Dear Dorte,
Mr. Rodolfo Caberoy is from the Philippine National Museum - Zoology branch.
He is one of the very few people in the country studying sponge taxonomy or
even sponges in general. I am starting to work on Philippine sponges for my
MS thesis at the Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines. I
was just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what work you might be doing
which involves Philippine sponges?
Rod has a few references on Philippine sponges (mainly unpublished works
from the 70s / 80s including his MS thesis). I am also trying to gather
literature on Philippine sponges and maybe we can help each other out.
For one, there's: Calcinai et al. 2005. Excavating sponge species from the
Indo-Pacific Ocean. Zoological Studies. 44(1):5-18. So far, this is the only
recently published work on Philippine sponges that I've come across.
I'm very much eager to hear about your work.
Best regards,
Rollan
