The London Consortium, a unique collaboration between the Architectural
Association, Birkbeck College (University of London), the Institute of
Contemporary Arts and TATE, - is launching a web resource in order to
initiate interdisciplinary intellectual debate about paradoxes of
contemporary culture.
Text-based entries in English or any other European language and/or visual
and audio contributions from scholars, artists and cultural practitioners on
the topic of Play and Violence are welcome.
Submissions of all genres, styles and form (academic and artistic, including
poetry, fiction, painting, photography, music, etc.) will be considered for
publication. This also applies to scholarly text-based submissions; however,
the following guidelines can be used:
500-1500 words for reviews, commentaries, and responses
4000-5000 words for essays, articles, and interviews
10000-12000 words for longer essays, articles, and analytical
studies
For text-based contributions, please follow the basic MLA style of
references. For contributions in English, please use the British spelling.
All text-based contributions should use Microsoft Word formatting (font 12,
1.5 line spacing, and 2 cm margins).
For visual and audio contributions, please contact the editors to discuss
their technical feasibility and appropriate formats.
The contributors are responsible for obtaining and securing the copyright
permission for any submitted material.
The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2005.
