Dear all,
this is a short reminder that the Deadline for the Workshop "Mobile Maps 2005" is approaching...
We invite you to submit papers for the upcoming workshop related to GI Science, Human Computer Interaction and Mobile Computing:
MOBILE MAPS 2005
- Interactivity and Usability of Map-based Mobile Services -
http://www.geoinform.fh-mainz.de/~zipf/mobilemaps/
19. September 2005 - Salzburg Austria
In combination with MobileHCI 2005, International Conference on Human Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices.
http://mobilehci.icts.sbg.ac.at/
Workshop Goals :
Intuitive user interfaces are indispensable for the acceptance of location-based services (LBS) and mobile services. Interactive mobile maps (in 2D and 3D) represent an important type of applications on mobile devices. Various research questions concerning interaction paradigms and usability issues of cartographic presentations are still open. On the one hand the special technical restrictions of mobile devices need to be considered; on the other hand the usage of the additional situative information within the mobile environment does offer new possibilities for individualizing mobile maps, i.e. their adjustment to the respective user, current situation and context.
The workshop attempts to promote interdisciplinary exchange around the central task of generating mobile maps in an "optimal" way for different users and tasks.
