Masters by Research in the Design and Evaluation of Advanced
Interactive Systems -- Studentships
********************************************************
LANCASTER UNIVERSITY
Psychology & Computing Departments
We have a few funded studentships still available for this well-established, interdisciplinary Masters course (one-year, full-time only). We are seeking graduates who have at least a 2(i) honours degree (or equivalent) in Computing, Psychology or another relevant discipline.
Studentships are funded by the EPSRC and provide maintenance bursaries for UK applicants (£6000 per annum) plus full fees cover (£3085). Studentships are offered competitively on the basis of merit. Fees-only funding is available for candidates from EU countries.
We also welcome overseas applicants. Although EPSRC studentships are not available to international candidates, we are able to offer Psychology Department bursaries of £500 as a contribution to living costs. These will be awarded on the basis of merit.
The MRes course has the following features:
* An integrated curriculum that brings together strengths in social science, psychology and computing to address core topics in designing and evaluating interfaces, from empirical studies of human-system interaction to technological advances in interactive systems;
* A unique collaborative design project module, where students work together designing for an audience of industrial and academic end-users;
* Dissertation projects undertaken at collaborating end-user sites under academic supervision, with the possibility of company-based financial support;
* An exciting and internationally-renowned environment for advanced interactive environment research.
Further information is available on our web site:
