In practise this collaboration means that a small number of people (3 or 4
people) get to look at the source code at RAL.
I guess that my real problem with dCache is thet even with the help of the
people who do have access to the source code it took Owen
and Mona ... neither of whom are numpties ... ~2 weeks to install and
configure dCache. This means there is/was a combination of lack of
documentation and support. Without access to the source code this lack
documentation and support meant that they were often left floundering with
no way of progressing.
