At Glasgow, we have a separate CE and PBS server. I'm trying to
install Apel on the PBS server and make it work. It appears to be
working on the CE.
I installed the following RPMs, which satisfied all dependencies:
log4j-1.2.6-1jpp.noarch.rpm
edg-rgma-stubs-servlet-java-4.0.5-1.noarch.rpm
edg-rgma-log4j-4.0.2-1.noarch.rpm
edg-rgma-api-java-4.0.2-1.noarch.rpm
mm.mysql-2.0.14-1edg.noarch.rpm
edg-rgma-apel-3.4.45-1.noarch.rpm
I coped /opt/edg/etc/edg-rgma/apel.xml over from my CE, since it
wasn't installed by any of the above, and edited it according to my
interpretation of the Apel user guide (just removed the
GKLogProcessor stanza).
Now, trying to run the cron job by hand results in a Java class
dependency error:
[root@masternode apel]# /opt/edg/sbin/edg-rgma-apel -f /opt/edg/etc/
edg-rgma/apel.xml > /var/log/apel.log
Wed Jun 22 13:32:06 UTC 2005: edg-rgma-apel - program aborted
Wed Jun 22 13:32:06 UTC 2005: edg-rgma-apel - problem occured while
reading config file, SAX2 driver class
org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl not found
At this point I'm looking at the RPMs installed on my CE, guessing at
which RPM might contain Apache XML parsers. I guessed at the
following two:
xml-commons-apis-1.0-0.b2.3jpp_sl3
xml-commons-1.0-0.b2.3jpp_sl3
but that had no effect. My version of Java is jdk-1.5.0_01-fcs.
Does anyone have any idea where I might hunt next for the RPM I need?
Thanks,
Fraser
