Vienna, Austria - September 18-23
(http://www.ecdl2005.org)
ECDL 2005 is the 9th conference in the series of European Digital Library
conferences. ECDL has become the major European conference on digital
libraries, and associated technical, practical, and social issues, bringing
together researchers, developers, content providers and users in the field.
The first ECDL Doctoral Consortium will be featured this year! The main idea
is to give doctoral students the opportunity to discuss their thesis
proposal with experienced researchers from the Digital Library Community and
other students.
Attendance at the Doctoral Consortium will be based on an acceptance of a
written abstract, of up to four pages, singly authored by the student. The
abstracts have to be submited by email, with a supporting letters of the
student adviser. Decisions of acceptance will be announced until July 11, so
the students can register until August 1st, the deadline for early
registration.
The accepted abstracts will be presented in the ECDL2005 poster session and
published on-line, in the conference's web site, with a full paper that the
students will have to deliver until August 28. The paper will be reviewed by
senior scientists who will be also present in the Doctoral Consortium
meeting, to be held during conference, where the students will receive
feedback about their work and will have a chance to participate in an open
discussion.
