Lectureship in Social Work
The University of Bath working in alliance with Swindon Social Services,
the Swindon and Wiltshire User Network, Swindon People First and Voluntary
Action Swindon are to start delivering the University of Bath social work
degree programme at the Swindon Oakfield Campus from October 2005.
We are looking for a social work academic with a good understanding of the
new degree in Social Work and who is able to work in alliance with
statutory, voluntary and service user run organisations and aware of the
importance of making practice learning central to students’ professional
development. The successful candidate will take on the role of leading this
programme with its first cohort of students. The University of Bath Social
Work Degree programme has a long-standing commitment to service user
involvement and to the development of anti-discriminatory and anti-racist
practice in teaching and learning. The post will begin on September 1st
2005 and the students will start on October 11th.
We will expect the post-holder to deliver some of the teaching for the
programme, organise external lecturers for the remainder of the teaching,
to supervise students’ first practice learning experience and to tutor the
first student intake. The post-holder will also be required to develop
their own research profile, in an area that is congruent with the research
profile of academics in the Department of Social and Policy Science.
