There was a Yew Tree colliery between Netherton & Rowley Regis in
Staffordshire, and owned by the Doulton Company in 1896. As coal outcrops
along the hillside it may well have been a drift mine.

Subject: NCB Colliery Locations
Can anyone on the list please help with the locations (nearest town/large
village) of the following NCB Collieries?
Brithdir (East Wales)
Broomlands (Ayrshire)
Mortonmuir (Scotland)
Oaklands (West Wales)
Seneley Green (North-Western area)
South Rhondda (Glamorganshire?)
Yew Tree Drift (Staffordshire)
Ynyscorrwg-Blaengwynfi (South Wales)
They all closed between January 1947 and December 1953, but some may have
been returned to the private sector.
Thanks,
Mike Gill
