The Society for Pirandello Studies
The Society for Pirandello Studies was founded (as the British
Pirandello Society) in 1980. It has two objects: the documentation of
all Pirandello activity, both academic and theatrical, in Britain and
Ireland; and the provision of an opportunity for those interested in
Pirandello to meet for talks, plays and discussion. A long-term
commitment also exists to the promotion of new English translations of
Pirandello's works. It is the Society's policy to attract people
working in different spheres: theatregoers, students, actors,
translators, teachers and researchers.
The Society also produces an annual journal, Pirandello Studies
(formerly The Yearbook of the British Pirandello Society and then The
Yearbook of the Society for Pirandello Studies), which includes
articles by scholars and theatre professionals, book reviews, reports
on productions, conferences, exhibitions, etc. The journal is sent free
of charge to all members.
If you wish to become a member of the Society for Pirandello Studies,
you should contact the Recruitment Officer, Daragh O'Connell,
Department of Italian, University College, Dublin 4, Ireland or at
