Duncan
My dad was a Wolves supporter - it explains a lot about our relationship!
I've been living in Lymm in Cheshire for the last 8 years, which is just
about sufficiently south of Manchester to start picking up Man Utd
supporters. I teach in Widnes, which is more or less evenly spread between
Liverpool and Everton supporters. My students have reacted very kindly to
my ties to West Brom (born and bred for 19 years, before leaving for uni) -
they were loads more confident about us staying up than me. I've been to a
great many football matches over the years but there's no team in the world
that has a more amusing fan base than the Baggies and West Bromwich could do
with the attention!
In Brian's defense, he did serve a noble apprenticeship with the Baggies in
the glory days of Cyril Regis, Laurie Cunningham et al, before selling his
soul to the (Ron Atkinson) devil.
And, as for the next person who accuses me of being a
Brummie................!
Thanks and best wishes to you and your daughter in law - my 8 year old
daughter treads a very thin line between her Man U dad and Baggies mum -
crash course in diplomacy!

Naomi,
I'm with you all the way! Scabchester United I call 'em. No offence
intended.
As to the Baggies, daughter in law, who is with child with my first
grandchild, is a Baggie supporter so they got my vote although their manager
is exceptionally suspect!
We are Burnley, super Burnley. We are Burnley, from the North. We chanted at
Wembley on the day that we lost the LDV trophy to Wolves ... another lot
near where you seem to gravitate to!
All the best for next season.
Duncan

Manchester who?
C'mon guys - forget the big boys (Glazered or not) and the Delia 'let's be
'avin u's'! Break open the champagne for the Baggies - WBA still in the
Premiership - yippee!

Hey Duncan
Let's not overintellectualise this issue.
How about we just sit back and enjoy watching Glazer wreak havoc on Salford
Soccer Rowdies :-)
