Hey all,
Indeed, I think setting up a CGF website is a grand opportunity to open up
discussions within the mailing group to an even wider audience. At the
moment, only those who have signed up with the mailing group are able to
benefit from the many ideas thrown up for ruminations, and use the group as
a channel for searching/disseminating ideas. In fact, I have encountered
many individuals who have found it too difficult/cumbersome to even apply to
be part of the mailing group as it is now!
Also, mailboxes tend to get cluttered sometimes when the discussions get too
'hot' or controversial. Therefore, I feel that converting the mailing group
into a web site would not only make it easier for people to access, but also
allow individuals to partake in the discussions as and when they want to.
The categorization of discussions into main topics/headings is also a very
good idea.
Just one caveat though. As with setting up any websites, a trial period is
needed to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I would thus suggest that
the present mailing group continues on at least till the new website is
stable and all the glitches have been smoothened out.
