Call for Student Volunteers
HCI 2005 requires a number of enthusiastic and motivated student volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the HCI2005 Conference from the 4th to the 9th September in Edinburgh.
Who can apply
-------------
Application is open to any student researching in either HCI or in a HCI-related field.
Duties and benefits
-------------------
Volunteers will be expected to be present from the afternoon of Sunday 4th September to the afternoon of Friday 9th September, and whilst on duty to wear the (hopefully not too dire) HCI 2005 t-shirts provided to allow for easy identification. They will have a range of duties, including, but not limited to: preparing the conference bags, assisting the reception desk, providing AV support prior and during sessions, directing attendees, and contributing to the overall smooth running of the conference.
In return for their assistance, student volunteers will pay no attendance fee, will receive copies of the proceedings, and be able to attend sessions when not on duty. Accommodation will be provided if required. Please note that HCI 2005 is unable to pay travel expenses.
It must be emphasised that while every effort will be made to allow student volunteers to attend sessions of interest to them, their primary responsibility will be to the smooth running of the conference and as such they may be needed elsewhere.
Application
-----------
