A member of the Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group has asked me to post a
request for information regarding a silver mine in Winkleigh Devon.
I assume that the request could well be fore a silver lead mine in the
centre of the village. The lady in question tells me that so far they have
come across a possible shaft that is 9 metres deep with a level at the
bottom running opposite each other for about 8½ metres. I cannot inform
you of the level, whether it is running north – south or east – west.
Any information gratefully received. Thank you in anticipation of any
answers.
Chris Kelland.
