Ah yes, but if you install elgg locally then you can set the filespace
limit at whatever you want. I'd be interested to know what your other
concerns with it were, before I look any further down this route. Is
anyone on this list exploring personal learning spaces and e-portfolios
as per the DfES e-strategy,

Thanks for pointing out the James Farmer article. errrm...
Is there a consensus here as to whether student blogs should be open to
the whole world or just the authenticated user community, as James
bemoans? Working as I do in a school, I have some pref. for the latter,
but am open to persuasion.
