Hopefully someone can help me understand what is meant by the term
"responding" to FoI requets.
As I understand the law, it states a response must be given within 20
working days from receipt of request.
My empoyer has stated in our guidance that we will supply the information
or give a reason why we cannot.
This would work OK for certain items but at moment some requests are taking
longer than the 20 working days to security check.
I would have thought it enough to respond that we have the info which we
will release following due clearance. We have been working all sorts of
hours to supply info before 20 day deadline.
I would welcome comments please
