I'm one of 8 people writing a blog for the Radio 4 Today programme during
the election campaign. You can see the blog on the BBC website - it's Weblog
4 on:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/election/weblog_index.shtml
If you were one of the 7 people actually awake and listening to the Today
programme this saturday gone at 8:40am, you will have heard the radio
version of this. Unfortunately, they cut out the bit where I clambour aboard
the mobile library here and renew my books (though the music at the end was
the bit that was playing on the library radio at the time).
If you have a gander at the blog entries for the 12th, 13th (part II), 14th
and 15th you will see that I have a thread running about libraries.
I'm interested in any examples where libraries or librarians have been
mentioned in party or candidate manifestos (for this 2005 UK general
election only). I've found the Labour party entry (see entry for 13th part
2) but have little else.
Have you spotted any library stuff in any party or candidate manifesto? If
so, please let me know.
Cheers,
John Kirriemuir
