Keith,
As you may know Blackboard is a recognised Shibboleth enabled service
provider by Internet2 (http://shibboleth.internet2.edu/seas.html) and
indeed I know that SWITCH in Switzerland has a number of institutions
now working with Blackboard and Shibboleth.
In the UK I know that the Core Middleware Project IAMSECT
(http://iamsect.ncl.ac.uk) again is using Shibboleth with Blackboard.
There are also a number of JISC funded early adopters that are now
starting to look to integrate their VLEs with Shibboleth as part of
their projects.
