Second Call for Papers

WSC10: 10th Online World Conference on Soft Computing in Industrial Applications
September 19th - October 7th, 2005
** On the World Wide Web **

Conference URL: www.cranfield.ac.uk/wsc10
Hosted by Cranfield University, UK

Paper Submission Deadline: April 29th, 2005

WSC10 is sponsored by the World Federation of Soft Computing (WFSC), European Neural Network Society (ENNS),
North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS), and
European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT)

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT WSC10

Original papers are invited for the 10th Online World Conference on Soft Computing in Industrial Applications (WSC10) to be held on the Internet. WSC10 aims at bringing together outstanding research and developments in the field of soft computing (evolutionary computation, fuzzy logic, neural networks, and their fusion) and its applications, from across the world. Papers are published on-line with the dual benefits of rapid dissemination and reduced cost. Springer Verlag has also agreed to publish accepted papers of WSC10 as an edited volume (with ISBN), after the conference. Furthermore, extended versions of selected papers of the conference will be invited for a "fast track" submission to the Elsevier Science Applied Soft Computing Journal.

During the conference, we will host interactive discussions between the authors and participants across the Internet. There will be a number of mirror sites around the world to ensure easy and rapid access to this major event from all locations. The registration to the conference is open to all (academics, students and industrial/commercial parties) and is completely free of charge.

The WSC10 Program Committee would also like to invite proposals for special sessions to be held during the conference. All special sessions are to be organised around a specific topic in order to encourage in-depth discussions. Special sessions will be an integral part of the conference.

WSC10 is now also inviting online tutorial proposals in topics related to soft computing in industrial applications. All accepted online tutorials will be held during the WSC10 conference.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Authors should submit their papers to [log in to unmask] by April 29, 2005. All papers are to be submitted in PDF format. The maximum page limit is 10 pages. The papers are to be formatted according to the author's instructions found at the conference website (www.cranfield.ac.uk/wsc10). In your submission email please mention: (i) the contact details of the corresponding author (Name, Address, Phone, Fax and E-mail), and (ii) upto five keywords.

Special session proposals and tutorials are welcome. Please notify the Special Session Chair, Erel Avineri ([log in to unmask]) about your intention to organise a session/tutorial as soon as possible.

For special sessions, please send session title, organiser's name and e-mail address, a short synopsis of session objective (max. 100 words), organiser's expertise in the field, and a tentative list of papers in the proposed technical session. At least three session papers have to be submitted by April 29, 2005.

For online tutorials, please send the abstract and biography of the presenter before April 29, 2005 and if approved send the final presentation paper by August 26th, 2005.

PAPER ACCEPTANCE

All accepted papers would be presented during the online conference. Participants are also encouraged to present multimedia presentations (such as online demonstrations, software, video clips etc.) to make the online discussions more interesting. Authors of accepted papers have to register and visit the conference website on a regular basis in order to respond to questions and comments on their paper without delay. By November 11th, 2005, camera-ready copies of extended papers have to be submitted for final inclusion in the conference proceedings. Significantly revised and enhanced versions of selected papers of the conference will also be invited for a "fast track" submission for the Applied Soft Computing Journal.
