Our payment adds up to being very close to BC, but our practices are given
specific amounts per course of care that goes for compensation (salary) of
the midwife,and an amount that goes into a benefits plan through the
Assocation of Midwives and a separate amount for overhead costs. The
government also pays our malpractice insurance fees.
