FactCheck 2005 
Description: This site was created by Channel 4 to provide politically impartial analysis of speeches, manifestos and pledges made by the main political parties during the 2005 election campaign. It includes news updates on the latest policy statements with analysis of their accuracy by experts. It is possible to view pledges by themes such as immigration, the economy, education and health. Users may also sign up to receive email newsletters and updates.

UNMIS: United Nations Mission in Sudan 
Description: This is the official web site of the UN peacekeeping mission which was established in 2005 to support the implementation of the peace agreement between the government of Sudan and Sudan People's Liberation Movement. It provides access to detailed information on the aims and activities of the mission. This includes press releases, maps of deployment, statistics and reports. Also accessible is a timeline of events, UN Security Council Resolutions and photographs. Reference is made to the human rights situation in Darfur.

Zimbabwe Elections: Kubatana Trust 
Description: The Kubatana Trust (incorporating the NGO Network Alliance Project) is an organisation which seeks to encourage the development of civil society in Zimbabwe. This section of its web site provides free access to an archived collection of materials relating to elections in Zimbabwe. These include press releases, newsletters and reports from NGOs and research bodies based in Zimbabwe. They include analysis of the state of democracy, election observations, reports on human rights and comment on the policies of Robert Mugabe. Reports are available from 2002 onwards.

Electronic Collection: a Virtual Collection of Monographs and Periodicals (Canada) 
Description: The Electronic Collection of Library and Archives Canada provides free access to Canadian books and periodicals published online. It includes over 13,000 titles issued by commercial and government publishers covering all aspects of the Social Sciences. These include a substantial number of official publications, documents from Canadian government agencies, think tanks and leading research bodies. Also indexed are individual journal articles.Key topics include politics, social policy, economic policy and political policy. It is possible to search the database by author or subject keyword. Most materials date from 1996 onwards. Bibliographic records are provided.

Guide to Ulster Loyalism and Unionism 
Description: This comprehensive guide is maintained by Niall O Dochartaigh of the University of the National University of Ireland, Galloway. It offers a directory of annotated links to over 270 current and defunct web sites relating to all aspects of Ulster loyalism and Unionism. This includes coverage of Northern Ireland politics, paramilitary organisations and terrorism in the province and the Northern Ireland peace process. The guide is arranged into thematic sections these include: political organisations, web logs, paramilitary sites, anti-Ira and Sinn Fein. Each entry gives the full URL. Where defunct sites are indexed by the Internet archive links are provided.

Portcullis: Gateway to the Archives of Parliament.
Description: Portcullis is the online catalogue of the archives of the British parliament. It provides a searchable database of records to over 3 million items. This includes catalogued materials held by the House of Commons and House of Lords archives. Details of holdings and coverage are displayed on the web site. Materials are not digitised. It includes papers and archives. Parliamentary speeches are indexed in a separate Hansard database accessible from the House of Commons web site. Information on access policy is available.

Album des Sciences Sociales (L') 
Description: This resource guide is produced by Revues.org, who are based at the University of Avignon. It aims to point to quality online teaching and research resources within the social sciences. The site intends to cover all the major sites on social and human sciences in the french-speaking world, as well as the most significant international resources. You can search for resources or browse the subject sections - there are five broad sections: reference sites; sites concerned with aspects of society; sites divided by historical period; humanities sites; sites divided by geographical location. It is also possible to browse all the sections and subsections on one page. Each site is classified by type and has a description of the content provided. Some also have the cataloguer's personal comments on any particularly useful aspects of the resource. The site is available in French only.

Latin American Periodical Tables of Contents (LAPTOC) 
Description: The Latin American Periodical Tables of Contents (LAPTOC)service is a special project of the Association of Research Libraries Latin Americanist Research Resources Project. It provides free access to a searchable database of tables of contents and references to articles published in over 800 journals relating to Latin American studies which are held by libraries who are members of the project. They cover all areas of the social sciences and humanities, including politics, government, social policy, culture, social welfare, public health. Most articles date from the mid 1990s to the present day, although there are some examples of earlier titles. Many are Spanish language publications. Countries covered by the database include: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The database may be searched by author, title, subject keyword or browsed by country.
