What we call "learner centred" approach in the UK (note that I have been an active
academic in this country and in this field for the last 13 years!) is a delivery aproach.
Constructivism, Behaviourism, Cognitivism are learning theories.
Education and training are different. HE, FE and School are different. Different
approaches and learning theories may be used successfully in different situations. What
I find difficult to accept is the use of incompatible concepts, theories and epistemologies
in a fashionable salad, that although portraying the flavour of the month, is inherently
meaningless and only serves to confuse issues and discredit educational informatics as
a field.
