Is the pain mainly experienced as the ITB moves across the lateral femoral
condyle?
Any positive neural tension tests?
Once the initial irritability is dealt with and as already noted, for the
future, you may also need to work on lower limb rotational control etc. Many
people are statically with the limits we expect biomechanically and also
exhibit good control dynamically at the beginning of an exercise but as they
start to fatigue their control and technique changes.
