If a "historian" is someone who studies the origins and development of
something, whether the something be "England", "aviation" or
"jam-making", then presumably there are as many types of historian as
there are "somethings" i.e. a very large number!
The Bodleian catalogue contains 115,741 entries which include the phrase
"history of", and 990 containing the word "historian"...
