Well-Being and Social Justice
Social Policy Association Conference 2005
Plenary speakers: Polly Toynbee, Gøsta Esping-Andersen, Ian Gough, John
Hills, Nic Marks and Fiona Williams.
The call for papers for this conference has now closed and we have had an
overwhelming response, not least from people outside the UK. In fact the
response has been so overwhelming that we have not been able to keep to
our deadline for letting people know whether or not their abstracts have
been accepted. We are very sorry for this and are currently scrutinizing
the abstracts so will be in touch shortly to let people know our
decision. Unfortunately, we will have to turn down many good papers
simply for lack of space in the programme.
Given the response we would like to encourage people to book early for the
conference to secure a place. In particular there is some limit to the
number of places at the conference dinner and civic reception and so we
cannot necessarily guarantee places at these events to all of those
wishing to attend the conference. Nor can we guarantee accommodation on
campus during the weekend before the conference for all those who might
require it.
A booking can be found on our web-site at: http://www.bath.ac.uk/soc-
pol/spa2005/
