The document hopefully show a model that could be applied in several
situations. There are a several possibilities on how I expected this might
be used, not just within the confines of the existing LOM, these could
include - as a contribution to an additional part of LOM or as part of new
standards.
If it they were to be used as a strict LOM extension as you describe then
the original elements and data types could be preserved such as:
5.2 LearningResourceType (vocabulary)
5.2.1 LearningResourceTypeExtension (ItemNameType)
There would be some redundancy but greater flexibility and precision. It
would be simple to derive the Vocabulary Type from the extended type.
