You are invited to join us at the above meeting which is intended for:
· E-portfolio and related systems developers
· Practitioners with an interest in technical interoperability
IMS LIP is a challenging specification to understand and to work with. We
wish to provide a first opportunity (hopefully not the last) for colleagues
to share their experiences of working with LIP and derivatives (UKLeaP, IMS
e-portfolio), and to discuss with exponents and architects of the
specifications.
The meeting will both help people practically, and also be of powerful
assistance towards what we can think of as "semantic" interoperability -
that is, ensuring that the information that has the same meaning, or plays
the same role, in different systems and contexts is represented in the same
way.
Equally importantly, the community who are now trying to use LIP-related
specifications are in the best position to influence the form of future
specifications covering the same area: that is, personal
e-portfolio-related information. At this meeting we aim to start the
process of building a consensus on the best way forward for future specs.
To reserve your place, please complete the attached booking form and return
to Tansy Abbott at
