About PERVASIVE 2005:
---
PERVASIVE 2005 is the opportunity to engage with original and significant
research contributions in the area of pervasive computing technologies,
systems and applications. This conference will feature contributions that
present advances in computing technology toward new modes of operation
(ubiquitous, continuous, and self-organized) and toward new usage models
(ambient, context-aware, and integral with human activity and environments).
Building on the success of previous conferences in this series held in
Zurich (August 2002) and in Linz/Vienna (April 2004), PERVASIVE 2005 is a
highly selective single-track program for technical papers, accompanied by
posters, videos, demonstrations, workshops, and a doctoral colloquium.
Full papers are included in the conference proceedings published by
Springer-Verlag as Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and will also be
made available through digital libraries. Short papers and extended
abstracts for poster, video and demo contributions will be included in
adjunct proceedings.

We are exited to have Rolf Pfeifer as a keynote speaker at PERVASIVE 2005.
He will speak about Intelligent Artifacts: the Interaction of Brain, Body,
and Environment.

At the conference, 20 papers reporting original research in the field of
Pervasive Computing will be presented. These papers, which are included in
the conference proceedings published by Springer-Verlag, were selected in a
peer-review process by an international program committee.
PERVASIVE 2005 received 130 full paper submissions.

In the category of Late breaking Results, there will be an exhibition of
13 posters at the conference reception. These poster highlight recent
advances in pervasive computing and will be published on in the adjunct
proceedings and on the conference website.

For the presentation at the conference, 11 research demonstrations and 6
videos were selected from the submissions received. Researchers show in
these categories a wide range of recent achievements in pervasive computing.
Demos and Videos are also included in the adjunct proceedings and will be
presented on the conference website.

The doctoral colloquium is a forum were PhD-Students in Pervasive Computing
can discuss their work with leading researchers in this area.
11 students were selected based on their submission. The accepted
submissions will be included in the adjunct proceedings.

On Wednesday 11th of March 2005, 8 Workshops will be held that focus on
special topics in Pervasive computing. Please be aware that most of these
workshops are only open to participants who have submitted a position paper.

In cooperation with PERVASIVE 2005, the International Workshop on
Location- and Context-Awareness (LoCA 2005) is held. The workshop takes
place on the 12th and 13th of March 2005 at the German Aerospace Centre
(DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich.

Pervasive 2005 will be held in the heart of Munich at the MARITIM Hotel.
The conference location is only 300 meters from Munich central railway
station (München Hauptbahnhof). It is easily reachable in about 45 minutes
