Dear ARCLIB
I've just joined this list and thought an introduction might be in
order.
I'm not actually working as an architecture librarian, though I was a
librarian in a former life (technical services, reference/user ed). I
got seduced by several digitisation projects and have ended up
working for the JISC's Technical Advisory Service for Images (TASI -
http://www.tasi.ac.uk ). See my signature for a mugshot and a bit
more about me.
As some of you will no doubt know, TASI is a national service
providing advice and support on all aspects of digitisation and
digital imaging. We have an extensive Web site, a free helpdesk
service, and a range of training courses (e.g. image capture,
metadata for images, digital rights management). If you're involved
in making, sourcing or using digital images, it's worth knowing about
us.
One of my research interests is the transition of the slide library,
so it's possible I might be hassling this list for some information
over the next few months.
With best wishes,
Grant
