The design and construction records relating to infrastructure related items,
(Bridges, roads, building etc) would in my mind fall under the Retention
guidelines for Local government in the following areas be 11.7, 8.5, 8.6, or
8.7.
Only the contractual parts of a PFI would fall under the contractual retention.

Whilst not disagreeing with that principal, most PFI's as well as being
quite novel, will relate to substantial infrastructure projects.
When the time comes for disposal our PFI files (or at least significant
parts of them) will be offered to our permanent public archive office
rather than destroyed as mundane contracts.
