**** "Forging Partnerships: Effective Stakeholder Communication within
the National Service Framework for Children" ****

The National Framework for Children (NSFC), "Every Child Matters", the
launch of Children's Trusts and other multi-agency partnerships and
initiatives. The spotlight is more sharply focused than ever on delivering
quality information, services and support to children and young people,
their parents and carers. Communication is critical to achieving the NSFC's
standards.

This two day, highly interactive workshop will significantly enhance your
understanding of the communication process within the context of the NSFC.
From the basics of communication theory and identifying your stakeholders,
this course will lead you through the specialist communication needs of
children - particularly those who have suffered trauma - and communicating
across multi-agency, professional and parent/carer boundaries.

Regional workshops dates:

21st and 22nd March at Jury's Inn, Leeds
21st and 22 April at Regent Hall, London

Course objectives

By the end of this course, you will be better able to meet the communication
challenges faced in meeting the NSFC Standards - in particular 2, 3, 4, 6, 8
& 9.

The particular focus will be:
        * Understanding the communication process and the delivery of
key messages
        * Identifying and involving stakeholders - including children
and young people themselves - in the communication process
        * Identifying and bridging gaps in personal and organisational
values
        * The effects of culture, trauma and language (written, verbal
and non-verbal) on the communication process

You will also have the opportunity to:
        * Explore communication success through your own experiences
and those of others involved in the delivery of services to children
        * Examine practical examples of stakeholder communication
