If somebody has already answered this I apologise: I was scanning
through the postings too quickly. Zinn in German means both tin and
pewter and here it is clearly pewter. A lot of commemorative and
souvenir ware in Germany is made in Pewter, including in the mining
industry. The Bergbaumuseum at Bochum, for example, has some nice pieces
