EXTENSION OF DEADLINE TO MARCH 1, 2005
PAPER CALL FOR: IWIPS’05
http://iwips.org/confsites/2005/
We are pleased to announce the
7th International Workshop on Internationalisation of Products and
Systems in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 7-9 July 2005
Conference theme
Designing for Global Markets: Bridging Cultural Diversity
Papers, posters, tutorial and workshop proposals are solicited from
researchers active in exploring advanced technologies to support
cultural diversity. There will also be a "Young Researchers Track"
(posters) for graduate students working in the area.
The 7th International Workshop on Internationalisation of Products and
Systems (IWIPS’05) is the latest in a longstanding series of annual
international conferences highlighting top quality research and industry
experience in the development of systems and interfaces for
international and intercultural use. The IWIPS field is committed to the
belief that in order to develop products and systems for a global
market, it is necessary to understand international user differences,
the effects of cultural backgrounds on user behaviour and the practical
aspects of designing, developing and supporting international systems.
The emphasis of the conference is on research concerning cultural
aspects of Human Computer Interaction, design of interactive systems for
an international market and issues concerning the effects of technology
on culture and the effects of culture on user experience. Practical
issues and solutions in product development for an international market
are also welcomed.
The conference thus provides opportunities for the cross-fertilization
of information and ideas from researchers and practitioners in the many
fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area, including:
Human computer interaction, ergonomics, design, product development,
marketing, localization, cognitive science, psychology, philosophy,
sociology, anthropology, linguistics, and the many domain-specific areas
for which international systems have been designed and built.
Please visit http://iwips.org/confsites/2005/ for submission details and
guidelines.
