Social Policy and Ageing Research Programme

This new programme is intended to make a major contribution to our
knowledge of the social and policy aspects of ageing in Ireland.
Applications are invited for these posts that offer ambitious candidates
an exciting opportunity to carry out path-breaking research and to use
the research findings to influence ageing policy in Ireland at this
critical juncture.
Senior Researcher - 5-year contract
The Senior Researcher will play a key role in shaping the emerging
research and policy programme. A track-record of ageing-specific
research and policy work is desirable but not essential. Applicants must
have a higher degree, preferably a PhD, in the social sciences.
Salary: EUR 37,000 - 55,000
Researcher - 5-year contract
The researcher will carry out independent and collaborative research
into social policy and ageing. A strong preference will be given to
candidates with a keen interest and track-record in policy-related
research. A higher degree in the social sciences is required.
Salary: EUR 27,000 - 36,000
Ph.D. Studentships (2)
Successful candidates will work on ageing-related issues and policies in
Ireland with a strong empirical and comparative element built into their
enquiry.
These studentships carry a stipend of EUR 15,000 for the first, EUR
16,000 for the second and EUR 17,000 for the third year. All fees are
covered for 3 years.
