Dear Matthew
In the NHS Retention Schedule in the Health Service Circular HSC
1999/053 For the Record
it is recommended that 'Nurses Training Records' are kept for 30 years.

Subject: [RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK] Nursing Records
Dear All,
Can anyone help. I have been asked by our occupational health about the
records they keep on the fitness to practice for nurses we teach here. I
understand that there is a "fitness to practice "certificate that must
be retained. A contact in the OH division has said that they have been
advised to keep the certificates for 8 years but they're not convinced
that that's long enough.
I'd be grateful if anyone can advise me on the retention of these
certificates or indeed any other specific nursing education records.
Many thanks for your help.
Regards
Matt
