Dear All,
Following the NMR Review there has been substantial restructuring with
many members of staff settling into new roles. I am pleased to say that
the Heritage Information Partnerships Team has been significantly
strengthened with the unfreezing of one Supervisor post and the creation
of a new HIPs Officer's post. Two of these three positions have been
filled, and external recruitment for Martin Newman's replacement will
take place within the next fortnight (details will be posted on this
list). Nick Davis has been appointed HIPs Officer and Catherine Cayley
as HIPs Supervisor with particular responsibility for the Heritage
Gateway project.
I am aware of past difficulties surrounding the supply of data to HERs.
This is one reason why the new HIPs Officer will coordinate this work on
behalf of Heritage Data. All requests for data covered by the NMR/HER
licence agreements can be routed directly through Nick Davis
([log in to unmask]). Requests for other data will need
to be sent to Enquiry and Research Services
([log in to unmask]). This is a free service and requests
will normally be dealt with within 15 working days (although we
endeavour wherever possible to process them more quickly than this). A
chargeable priority service is available where necessary.
If you are having difficulties in the supply of data under the licence
agreement then please let us know (preferably off list!) and we will try
to sort things out for you.
Best wishes,
Matthew
