Sounds more like German
Jahres-teller means Plate for the Year. I would think it was/is a
commemorative plate. And Zinn is tin: Zink would be zinc.

Subject: Jahresteller & Zinn
Can someone help please.
I have two metal items showing the same wording on each, viz., Jahresteller,
and also 95% Zinn. Jahresteller is followed by the date 1990 on one and 1988
on the other.
I am certain Zinn means zinc. I have no idea re Jahresteller, but what
language would this be? Afrikaans by chance?
Regards, Bernard
