Dear All over the last few weeks SOSIG has been trialling a special news feature on the site at: <http://www.sosig.ac.uk/news/> It is intended that this will act as a type of 'news blog' tracking the latest developments in the social sciences as well as announcements from the SOSIG central team. This service will be maintained by specialist subject editors. Here is an example from Politics <http://www.sosig.ac.uk/subject-news/index.php?cat=12> Each week the politics section will include: > Tracking of the latest news stories with links to press announcements and suggestions for further research (last week's example was the Palestinian elections) > A site of the week (highlighted the editor's choice of one offering good value full text materials) > A listing of key the latest UK government publication > links to key UK government statistics. A full list of the other subjects can be viewed at: <http://www.sosig.ac.uk/subject-news/> (links on extreme right of the page). For further information on the new service read this brief article by Paul Ayres of ILRT who was involved in its development. (This will also be published in a forthcoming issue of ASSIGNation
