Summary: AUTOASTROM 0.5-9 fails to work on LINUX (redhad 9 and
suse 9.1)
Product: AUTOASTROM
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: blocker
Priority: P2
Component: AUTOASTROM
AssignedTo: [log in to unmask]

I've installed the AUTOASTROM package and all subsidiary packages (ccdpack
v4.0-16, atools v1.6-3, perl v5.8.2, starperl v.1.4.2 etc.) in the newest
version from starlink. Installation was successful.
Using AUTOASTROM within GAIA produces the following error message:
Possible precedence problem on bitwise | operator at

The problem is independed of all choosen parameters in the AUTOASTROM window of
GAIA and also independend of the type of image used. I have reinstalled perl and
starperl. No change. The files mentioned in the error message are all existent
under the given pathnames, the %ENV and @INC variables are set properly to:
/home/aseifahr/star/Perl/bin/perl -V

I have tried the installation under the LINUX distributions redhad 9 and suse 9.
Same results. I would be very grateful if you could help!
Cheers,
Andreas
