The JNIAST build-source target builds some of the java sort-of-source
files from corresponding Perl real-source files. I run this target
if I've been mucking around with the perl. Since the results are
not system-dependent I don't think there's any call for it to be done
automatically, it's best done by the package maintainer (i.e. me) as
and when I see fit. When I run it I'll check the results in to
the repository.
