SORRY FOR DUPLICATE MAILING
Does jiscmail need to have a rule that if someone asks "Have you got
information on X" that this is understood not to be treated an FOI
request (unless explicitly stated??) otherwise there will be a problem
for all public authorities on the list.
In general, do jiscmail rules need to state that an FOI request should
go through other channels and not jiscmail? Otherwise one can't
distinguish FOI requests from just requests for info etc. Just a
thought?
Alternatively, you could treat it as a valid FOI request, but if I were
an FOI officer for a public authority, I might considr getting off this
list immediately!!
This is a problem for ALL Jiscmails. Can the person responsible for
thjis list put this one to the correct place

Hello,
We are just reassessing our retention period for destruction
certificates given that we have may have a greater need to prove when
and why we threw things away under FOI. Could anyone tell me how long
they keep them for?
Thanks in advance,
Zoe
