The organization of this year's Research Students' Conference has been
unexpectedly difficult, and the organizers deserve great credit for the
work they have done to ensure the conference will be a success. The dates
and venues are now settled, and the deadline for submitting proposals has
been extended to the 1st of February. Any proposals already received need
not be resubmitted, but new proposals will be accepted up to that date.
Please bring this notice to the attention of any (other) students with
whom you may be in contact, whether or not they are RMA members, and
encourage them to attend the conference even if they will not be
presenting a paper.
Please note that RMA Student members, including named members of Student
Groups, will be eligible to apply for a small fund of bursary assistance,
to be administered by the conference organizers. Students applying for
bursaries must show (a) that they are RMA members in good standing at the
time of the conference, and (b) that they have actually attended the
conference. It will not be necessary to present a paper to be eligible,
but all non-members are ineligible.
Jeffrey Dean, RMA Secretary
