Conference on Personal Tutoring, 26 May 2005, University of Westminster
The University of Westminster and the Higher Education Academy are
holding the first UK conference on personal tutoring on Thursday 26 May
2005, and are inviting submissions of proposals for papers to be
presented at the conference.
The aim of this conference is to allow academics and others to discuss
personal tutoring in the current contexts of higher education -
including an increasingly diverse student body - as well as a topic in
itself, giving consideration to the issues such as:
* what personal tutors are and what they do;
* what makes them effective and how they work;
* their relationship to the University and student services more
generally;
* the history of personal tutoring in the UK.
We are hopeful that the conference will lead to a publication on
Personal Tutoring.
Further details regarding the event, including more detailed information
on paper submissions, can be found in the events section of the Academy
website at www.heacademy.ac.uk/events/25.htm.
