The following ppostgraduate seminar series are run in the session 2005/06:
'Denkanstöße' (D)
This series of seminars will give research students in any area of German Studies the
opportunity to try out their ideas on each other in an informal environment.
Students are invited to provide short extracts from the texts/material on which they are
working to serve as a basis for discussion. They will then have the opportunity to facilitate
and guide the discussion, providing an introduction to the material and to their research.
This is a chance for all postgraduates in German Studies to discover connections and
parallels, and to provide and receive stimuli for further enquiry.
'Cultural Exchange between Vienna and Berlin in the early 20th Century' (CE)
Seminars will focus on key figures and cultural movements in Vienna and Berlin in the
early 1900s, analysing mutual influences, parallels and links between the two cities and
their cultures at the time.
Meetings will take place at the IGRS, Stewart House, on Thursday afternoons, from 3.15
